department in Newbury supports projects in the UK, Netherlands and Scandinavia

We currently have a vacancy for a Statistician within our Biometry Group of the
R&D Northern Europe department. Reporting to the Head of Biometry, you will
provide a range of statistical services to the UK, Netherlands and Nordic
medical groups, and take responsibility for specific drug development projects.
The role includes the design, statistical analysis and reporting of clinical
studies, writing and validating computer programs and choosing appropriate
statistical techniques. You will provide a general statistical consultancy
service and advise on biometrical aspects of study design in your project
responsibility area. You will work closely with those in data management,
medical advisers, others in R&D and biometry groups worldwide in order to
produce high quality work to current Bayer and international GCP standards.
Suitable applicants will possess the following:
A higher degree in statistics or in a relevant subject
with a high statistical content
Good programming skills
Experience of SAS or other statistical software
You will ideally have two or more years*, experience of working with clinical
data. You will be self-motivated, possess strong analytical skills, have good
written and interpersonal skills and be able to work accurately, with minimum
supervision. You will be able to make a personal contribution to the direction
and achievements of this professional Biometry team. You will also have the
opportunity for real influence in the direction of Biometry in Bayer worldwide.
