The annual Summer Science Exhibition, New Frontiers in Science is the
Royal Society's showcase for scientific innovation. Twenty-one of the UK's
top science and technology research teams have been selected by the Royal
Society to demonstrate the latest advances in their work. Try your hand at
surgery using a computer designed to test the skill of surgeons.........and
see how Halley Station, Antarctica monitors 'space weather' in its extreme
and remote environment. Visitors can also see Beagle 2 which will look for
evidence of past and present life when it lands on Mars in 2003 and discover
how old bones can reveal new insights into diseases that are still common
today. These are just a few of the diverse range of exhibits that will be on
display.
The exhibition is free and open from 10.00 to 16.30 on Wednesday 16 and
Thursday 17 June 1999 at the Royal Society, 6 Carlton House Terrace, London,
