Dear Sarah,
this won't come as any surprise, but extracts from Morgner's work
can be really amusing, and you can teach them quite nicely as
extracts. Same goes for Kerstin Hensel. Some of Stefan Doering's
poetry is funny, Karen will be able to tell you more, I just remember
laughing (could have just been me though!). Lots of Jandl's poetry
is funny for the students ... though that could be for the wrong
reasons! Jelinek's work is full of grotesque and very strange
humour, I don't know if you'd want to go down that route!
I remember going to a DAAD conference in which Jeff Chase from
Nottingham gave a paper on a comedy course he taught, I can't
remember what was on it though. Perhaps Elizabeth can act as a
spy, I remember he did some Freud and Bachtin (I think) for the
theory part.
