you may remember that i reported a while ago on the invitation extended to
WIGS to participate in a Euro-conference on "Women and Science". Now here's
a summary/update from the EC:

>RECENT DEVELOPMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS :

>Gender Impact Studies :
>
>Two calls for tenders, one for gender impact studies and one for
assistance to
>their coordination, were published in the Official Journal of this Tuesday
>21/09/99 (S edition n 183 call code respectively WOSCI-GEIMAS 99/S 183-128284
>and WOSCI-GIACO 99/S 183-128283). The gender impact studies aim at
assessing the
>gender impact in all the different specific programmes of the Fifth Framework
>programme. All persons or institutions can request the terms of reference
>(deadline: 22/10/99) and submit a tender (deadline: 12/11/99), following the

>Network of Networks of women scientists:

>On July 8 and 9, a meeting of representatives of networks of women scientists

>PROSPECTS:
