Lothian Health Board, Edinburgh, Scotland, are conducting a health
impact study of various future transport policy scenarios for the
city.
Is anyone aware of any similar studies which have been carried out in
other cities; or of any quantification of the health effects of
changes in transport behaviour over time, for example in towns/cities
such as Basel, Groningen or Freiburg where modal split has changed in
favour of greener modes? Basically has anyone been able to show that
if % of trips by bike or pt increases by x% then coronary illness
falls by y%?
Thanks in advance for any information.
