Dear Friends,
I am interested in Urban and Regional Gaming Simulations for
educational and training purposes, from both the designer and the
user point of view, as well as in Urban and Regional Modelling.
Many years ago I collected several publications and some gaming
simulations about such subjects but, for reasons which it would be
too long to explain, I could keep only few ones of them. In any case,
all of them are now obsolete.
In 1985 I purchased The Guide to Simulations/Games for education and
training, edited by ROBERT E. HORN and ANN CLEAVES and published by
Sage Publications.
In that publication I found some interesting urban games such as
Decision Mathematics Operational Game, developed by the Department of
Quantitative Methods of the Georgia State University, GSPIA: An Urban
Regional Development System, developed jointly by Francis H.
Hendricks, School of Architecture & Environmental Design of the
California Polytechnic State University and Clark Rogers of the
University of Pittsburgh, SYSTEMS, developed by Carl Steinitz,
Graduate School of Design of Harvard University, Huntington Two
Simulation Package, developed by the Software Distribution Centre 1-2
of Digital Equipment Corporation, MINI-APEX, developed by Theodore
Rider of the Boston College, and NEW TOWN, developed by Harwell
Associates.
In April 1985 I wrote to the people concerned at the addresses given
in the guide in order to have complete details but, except for an
acknowledgment of receipt sent from Professor Hendricks, none of them
answered. Therefore, on the 24th June 1986 and, again, on the 3rd
April 1987 I wrote to Sage Publications without receiving any sort of
reply. Moreover, although I wrote another letter to Professor
Hendricks on the 28th May 1985, his reply never reached me and also a
letter sent on the 24th June 1986 to Clark Rogers at the University
of Pittsburgh remains unanswered.
Is anybody there in the position to let me have the present addresses
of the people concerned (and/or of some of their collaborators)
and/or to let me know which more up-to-date publications on the above
quoted subjects have been released and/or suggest me where I can find
other Gaming Simulations and models on such subjects?
I already sent the same message to the list many months ago but I
received no useful reply.
Thank you for your co-operation!
