Try getting hold of Hugh Coolican's excellent book entitled
"Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology" - there's
a good chapter in that comparing the various methods of
studying "people". Otherwise dip into any basic psychology
text book (e.g. Gross, Richard: Psychology, the Science of
Mind and Behaviour). Good luck!
