As one of the Shropshire Mines Trustees and Member of the Shropshire Caving
and Mining Club I would like to answer some of the comments made.
1) There is a Guide leaflet available from tourist points providing details
of the buildings (these are beginning to run out but I can provide one to
Felix if he would like to send a direct e.mail, with address). Signs will be
required because the Mine is a living village to avoid trespass and nuisance
2) You will notice the building works are still in progress on various parts
of the site and that a lot more is still to be finished.
3) The next stage is to include interpretation boards and guide markers for
low profile tourism
4) The Shropshire Mines Trust organises walks and underground tours for
organised groups
5) The mine and buildings will be opened for guided tours all weekend 11/
12 September 1999
6) The signage which will be sympathetic has been designed by Phil and
Richard Amies from Sygun Mine at Beddgellert who are consultants to this
project

7) Work is also progressing at Tankerville Mine, I hope you had time to
visit the other Engine Houses and surface reamains in the orefield .
