miners? [Answer from] Ian L Tout: St Barbara whose saint’s day is
December 4. A miners’ hymn is probably “Guide Me, O Thou Great
Jehovah”. Written by William Williams, is was customarily sung by Welsh
miners on their way to work as a prayer for God’s care and guidance.
Walter W Wilcox suggests Michael Heseltine as the miners’ patron saint
and their favourite hymn as Money, Money, Money. [No I am note making
