Dear All
Thanks to Judy for hi-lighting the principles for practice section at
the beginning of the new Joint list of Periodicals - I have to admit I
would never even have glanced at it otherwise!
I will be continuing to accept and send ILL's with recognised journal
abbreviations. If anyone is going to find that a problem please do let
me know.
It seems that accepting electronic requests for ILL's is a practice
used by many libraries including BL and BMA.
The Christie will be continuing to use electronic methods of
requesting ILL's and we will be happy to receive requests
electronically. Again if anyone is going to find that a problem please
let me know.
Melanie
PS. A big thank you to those who put in all the effort needed to put
the joint union list together - much appreciated.

Subject: unionlist
two points re the new (and most welcome) union list: is the exact
medline/index medicus abbreviation really not acceptable for
photocopy requests?; and as several of us are now sending out
winchill generated requests are libraries prepared to accept that we
do
have our readers' signatures for any requests - as do BL and BMA etc?
good wishes all round, Judy
