Dear All
A query slightly outside the usual range of GIS users. Perhaps you can
apply your knowledge to help me out?
I have a colleague who has cross sectioned lizard bones. The sections
are in bitmap format at present and effectively look like a black blob
on the screen. She needs to calculate the pixel area of the black
blob. (if you don't get what I mean see the attached blob!)
I have tried to magic crop it in Paintshop Pro 5 and whilst this
selects the area nicely it doesn't allow me to gain information on the
number of pixels inside the crop marker. However, I recently saw ERDAS
Imagine doing something similar and giving an area based output.
Can such an operation be done in ArcView? If so how should I go about
doing this?
All help / messages of support gratefully recieved!
