JOB ANNOUNCEMENT - Geographic Information Systems
JOB TITLE: Data Processing Programmer Analyst I (Contractual -
No Benefits) - 2 Positions
SALARY: $33,807 - $50,815 per year
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent is a member of a team of natural resource
professionals responsible for the development and implementation of
ecosystem-based natural resource assessment and analysis techniques. The
incumbent has particular responsibility for the design, development,
implementation of, and maintenance support for, natural resource and
environmental data bases, geographic information systems, and related data
processing functions. Specific duties include the development,
documentation, and dissemination of geographic information systems (GIS)
applications and other computer based landscape targeting tools for
ecosystem conservation and restoration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Technology,
Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other information
technology-related field to include course work in systems analysis and
applications programming using third generation or other generally accepted
computer programming languages.
NOTES:
* Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in
Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information
Systems, or other information technology-related field to include course
work in systems analysis and applications programming using third generation
or other generally accepted computer programming languages may be
substituted for the required education.
* One year (level I), one additional year (level II and lead/ advanced
level) of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and
maintaining applications systems and programs using third generation or
other generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted
for the required education.
* Experience operating multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems;
or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a tape library to
process data on multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or evaluating,
implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software; or
converting data from project specifications by developing program code using
third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages
may be substituted for high school on a year-for-year basis.
* Employees in this classification may be subject to call 24 hours a
day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a
telephone number where the employee can be reached or will be furnished with
a pager.
