Dear all,
Can I bring to your attention the following symposium which will be held as
part of the Geoscience 2000 meeting (April 17th-20th, 2000), University of
Manchester
Fluids in the crust: making space and filling space (G20007)
Mineral Deposits Study Group with the Metamorphic Studies Group
Fluids moving through the crust during hydrothermal events, metamorphism or
diagenesis require transient space in which to move; typically this is
infilled subsequently. Processes can involve deformation, dissolution and
mineral growth, and this symposium addresses their mechanisms, timing and
inter-relationships.
Keynote speakers: Mark Barton (Arizona), Jay Ague (Yale), Bjørn Jamtveit (Oslo)
Title and short abstract deadline: 1st September
Abstract deadline: 27th November, 1999
