SHORT COURSE ON SOIL DYNAMICS
A 1-1/2 day short course on Soil Dynamics by Shamsher Prakash and Ahmed W.M.
Elgamal will be held on March 25-26, 2001 in San Diego, CA. The topics will
cover Dynamic Soil Properties, Elementary Seismology, Ground Motion
Amplification, Liquefaction Analysis of Soils, Stability Analysis of Rigid
Retaining Walls, Bridge Abutments, etc.
Please ask for details by returning the Preregistration Form.
SPECIAL FEATURE
Young engineers and scientists (30 years or younger) will be given a special
break in the conference fees.
These professionals are, therefore, especially encouraged to contribute.
SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Authors are invited to submit three copies of abstracts of about 500 words
of original unpublished papers to the conference chairman before November
30, 1999. The abstracts must contain sufficient detail to permit a critical
review.
The following information must be supplied with the abstract:
1. Name of the author for correspondence.
2. Postal address of each author with e-mail/fax/telephone numbers.
3. Theme of your paper (see Themes for Discussion 1-12).
Final acceptance of the paper will be based on review of the completed
manuscript. The proceedings will be produced on CD-ROM and copyrighted by
the University of Missouri-Rolla.
SUBMISSION OF FULL PAPERS
The manuscripts of the full papers should reach the organizers no later than
August 1, 2000.
The following are required:
1. Original and two copies on 8.5 " x 11" paper.
2. 1 HD 3.5" Diskette containing text only on WordPerfect
or Microsoft Word.
