Hello All
Sorry about the late notice for this, but as I have recently
subscribed to this mailing list, it has occurred to me that
people on here may be interested in an EC funded project aimed
at allowing parents to protect their children from content they
consider unsuitable that I am working on. Whilst it is an EC
funded project, people form anywhere in the world are encouraged
to participate by filling out the online questionnaire.
Submissions on the questionnaire outlined below are supposed to
close today, but I will accept questionnaires up until the end
of Monday 1 November.
If you are also a content provider, we have another
questionnaire about the issues faced by content providers which
is available by email. If you would like to complete this
questionnaire, please email me and I will forward it to you.
Responses to this questionnaire close on Friday 5 November.
If anybody would like more information on the project, please
contact me on my work email at [log in to unmask] Please feel
free to distribute the notice below about the INCORE project to
any you think may have an interest in it.
Cheers
David
Protecting Children Online
The European Commission is currently funding a project called
INCORE, or Internet Content Rating for Europe, which is part of
preparations for an Action Plan to help protect children from
Internet content that may harm them. INCORE is focused on
creating a rating and filtering system that will allow parents
and teachers to prevent their children from seeing web sites
that they think are unsuitable for them.
You can participate in this project by filling in an online
questionnaire about what content worries you. The questionnaire
is available from the INCORE web site (http://www.incore.org) in
the 11 official languages of the European Community.
You can find out more about the European Commission's Action
Plan to Promote Safer Use of the Internet at

To obtain a hard copy of the questionnaire, you can contact
