ANOTHER PRIZE FOR _1650-1850_!
Kevin L. Cope, editor of _1650-1850: Ideas,
Aesthetics, and Inquiries in the Early Modern Era_,
is pleased to announce that yet another prize has
come to this ever-upscaling journal. In the recently
released volume four, TODD PARKER of DePaul
University penned an article for Jim Thorson's
special feature on Jonathan Swift under the title
"Swift's 'A Description of a City Shower' and the
Epistemological Force of Filth." Todd's
groundbreaking (or maybe dung heaving!)
contribution has now garnered the prestigious
RICHARD RODINO PRIZE, conferred by the
Ehrenpreis Swift Institute in Muenster, Westphalia,
Germany. Congratulations go out to Todd, who
brings the second major award in its four-year run to
_1650-1850_.
Subscriptions to _1650-1850_ are available from
the AMS Press, 56 East 13th Street, New York, New
York, 10003; FAX (212) 995-5413; telephone (212)
777-4700. Don't miss out on this one--or any that
will follow (or that have come before, back issues
and complete set still being available!)!
