This is *all academia is it? and *all poetry written in cambridge UK? It
would seem so.
.
But may I just quote from you?
.
|They are not named, they are categorised they are theorised
.
& you're doing the same. almost.
.
And there's:
|Read Hegel. I have. Marx too. His book on capitalism is good read --but he
|was poor interpreter of Hegel and Hegel was lousy reader of Kant and so on.
.
His book on capitalism.... he wrote a few actually, but if we are talking
about Capital - having taken one of its bases, you still say it is a good
read? Well, that's an interesting definition of a good read. I like the
opening. I find that very easy. & exciting. But I have to say that I get
bogged down after a while. I have to work at it.
.
You don't seem to enjoy it at all though
.
|True they have their points --all insisted on a contract with the
|reader --all wanted that reader to understand their work and in marx's case
|act upon it. Several decades later we have the same bilge repackaged
.
so in what sense is it a good read for you?
.
|I find it all depressing that we have so many inequalities
|in our respective societies and problems, but those who are in the position
|of doing something, would rather make risks with language than risk doing
|something.
.
how exactly can we do anything about anything without some kind of plan to
help us and our we going to plan without theory? or are you going to work
out your plan after you have fulfilled it? One of my implicit points earlier
is that we are effectively powerless; I would be pleased to hear that there
is some hope, but I could find none in anything in what you said over the
noise of you flinging yourself against the bars of a perceived cage.
.
And that is the same for Cam-Po --the poem is of secondary
|importance -it does not matter if it is absolute crap --as long as it is
|propped up by ...theory --a theory that is Eurocentric and will in a few
|years be remaindered --because the rest of the world people want poetry,
.
which poets and which critics are you talking about? [leaving aside the
implicit claim that "crap poetry" - undefined - is not poetry... I've heard
that before]
.
|If you wish to change things you must take
|that risk. I am willing to do that.
.
any risk or must it be tied to a plan (see above)?
.
You see, if this is IT, the programme, now that you are no longer young,
maybe "they" just didn't think you'd thought it through
.
