"Of all the many glories that may be": Keats Before
Poems (1817)
MLA Conference - 27-30 December 1999
Interest in Keats's early career--his early education, his medical
training, his first introductions to and relationships with other
contemporary literary figures, and so on--has steadily grown following
the publication of several major studies and the
bicentennial celebration of his birth in 1995. I am looking for papers
that deal with Keat's early work in the context of recent
research on his life; I am especially interested in papers that examine
some of the lesser known poetical works and letters.
Possible topics could include, but are not limited to:
Keats as/on Youth
Keats and the "Magazine Wars"
Keats and Education
The Public Keats
Keats in/on "Theory"
Keats and Auto/Biography
The Political Keats
Keats and Memory
