Thank you Susan for making the point about the Australian series system
which I have been groping towards making all morning. It's one of the
methods I am considering for dealing with the archives of Glaxo Wellcome and
its many and varied subsidiaries and departments. (Not that different from
the problems expressed by the local government CALM users who started this
discussion!) If anyone in the UK or Ireland is using it I would be very
interested to know their views.
Also thanks to Susan, Mark, Geoffrey and everyone else who has contributed
to this thread so far. A happy contradiction of the idea that UK archivists
don't think about theory. Please keep it up.
Sarah
