I am involved in a survey project of Eylesbarrow tin mine on Dartmoor in
the Parish of Sheepstor. I am intending to use the survey results as an
integral part of an undergraduate dissertation based on the mining remains
at Eylesbarrow, looking at tieing up the remains on the ground with the
available historical records and phasing the activity on the site. I have
looked at the relevant Mining Journals, some share certificates and the
contemporary maps and cash book in the WDRO and DRO, but would like to know
more about the production figures of the mine and the miners and where they
lived. I would also be interested to know if there is any abandoned mine
map that exists.
Does anyone know of any documents or information regarding the returns of
the mine, where the miners lived or of any abandoned mine records?
