HEAD OF STATISTICS UNIT
Salary from £32.5K, depending on experience
The Statistics Unit is part of the Central Services Division of the
Archbishops' Council and as such collaborates with all sectors of the
National Church Ins titutions to provide statistical information and
services.
A substantial part of the Unit's work is concerned with the distribution,
collection and processing of annual returns of membership and finance from
the 13,000 parishes of the Church of England. It is also involved in the
processing of figures relating to the Church's ministry, and has
responsibility for providing projections of clergy numbers and other human
resource planning material.
The Unit is looking to appoint a Head of Statistics, at Principal level,
who will have overall responsibility for the operational efficiency of the
Unit and the management of its staff.
The successful candidate must:
* Be a graduate in statistics or have a degree in a numerate discipline in
which statistics is a substantial component
* Have relevant work experience within a statistics-processing
environment, including experience of the practical application of
statistical techniques and the management of staff; and
* Have a high level of organisational and both oral and written
communication skills with the ability to manage change.
