We have a number of students who spend 1 semester of their placement
year at academic institutions in Europe on an Erasmus exchange, and then
go onto spend the second semester on a work placement.
I have read that for students who spend an entire year on an ERASMUS
exchange no tuition fee is payable, but HEIs will be eligible for a full
#1000 contribution to costs as part of their HEFCE grant.
Does anyone have any idea what the position is regarding students whose
situation is as above?
Would we claim a contribution to costs for the 1st semester and charge
half the placement fee of #510 to the SLC/student (subject to means
testing) for the 2nd semester?
Any knowledge anyone can share would be greatly appreciated.
