I'm not sure if its going to answer your question, but you might want to
take a look at Weaver's "The Origin of Ocean Island Basalt End-Member
Compositions," EARTH AND PLANETARY SCIENCE LETTERS, Vol. 104, 1991, pp.
381-397. It looks at the various concentration levels for Ba and
other trace elements in OIB. Though for OIB its usually Ba enrichment...
Hyndman's PETROLOGY OF IGNEOUS AND METAMORPHIC ROCKS also reviews the
behavior of Ba in basalts.
