Special Issue
Student Learning and Engineering Education
Contributions are invited for this special issue of the International
Journal of Engineering Education. Papers may be submitted by researchers
in any discipline whose work involves the study of student learning.
Researchers in the fields of education, psychology, training and
development, human resource development, and similar areas, as well as
those who study education in the professions are strongly encouraged to
submit. The impetus for this special issue is the awareness of the fact
that considerable research on student learning is being conducted outside
the field of engineering which has meaningful implications for engineering
education and which could benefit engineering education in the light of the
increasing quest to improve teaching practice. This special issue is an
attempt to solicit such research for the benefit of engineering educators
around the world.
Manuscripts must conform to the Notes for Contributors which can be found
in previous issues of the Journal or at
http://www.ijee.dit.ie/contrib.html.
Deadline for submissions: March 15, 1999
Note: Authors are encouraged to submit brief (1-2 page) abstracts for
preliminary review as soon as possible.
Abstracts and submissions can be sent to electronically as email
attachments in MS Word, WordPerfect 5.1, or text files.'
