I am conscious that there are nationally a large number of
people who as individuals, research students, researchers
or members of groups and organisations are conducting
research into present UK government proposals and policies
on welfare reform.
Some may already have established networks and contacts,
but I am not aware that there is any national network which
would allow for the pooling of information and ideas, and I
would like to propose that we set one up. This would not
necessarily be another e-mail list (although that would be
possible if there was sufficient interest, and people are
not already inundated with messages). At the least it could
mean the opportunity to meet perhaps two or three times a
year to consider what research is being done and to learn
from each other.
I am investigating ways in which this might be funded, but
in the meantime would be grateful if you could let me know
if you have any interest in such a venture.
If not, and you know of someone who might, please pass this
message on.
