Since this course was also on the knee, this was the instructors
opinion( Mark De Carlo, president of the APTA sports med. section )
ITT band stretching in SL was too difficult because you have to
stabilise the head of the femur and pts can't do that themselves....he
advised doing it in the stand position
He actually did the Ober test on me and really held my femur/pelvis in
place, I actually had moderate shortening and could't even get near the
plinth.( and I thought I was flexible !).I don't think I have been
stabilising the femur enough judging by how he pressed and held my
femoral head down
