I found article by Dr M.C Siff Mon 26 May 1997 'Rotator Cuff Paradox' in
Physio archives an interesting contrasting approach to current
'fashionable' muscle stabilisation exercise regimes.... Unless one spends
the bulk of time with athletic types the micro exercises are either too
boring or time consuming and certainly do not replicate function...
I do work in a ortho clinic with a large amount of shoulder patients
.....many many have 'everything' 'hypersensitivity , imbalances , neck
shoulder pain lots of injections lots of pain problems other than the
'tendinitis' on the referral sheet .
Not too many courses or 'research' into this clinical conundrum.....? I
have
not found too much on chronic shoulder/neck pain in the literature other
than the purely mechanical manual therapy approaches ....
clinically seems to be as many 'yellow flags with this patient group as
those with low back pain -- do you agree? or is the west of Scotland fairly
unique... I doubt it !
