> The NHS Regional Librarians Group is seeking an experienced Research
> Officer to carry out a scoping study working, with the Regional Library
> Advisors and Directors in the English Regions and the NHS Library Adviser;

> The purpose of the study is to implement a structured audit which will:

> * map and scope existing expertise, projects and subject specialisms

> within the NeLH framework
> - identifies the potential for partnerships

> It is essential that the successful candidate is immediately available

> * in a position to commit up to 30 days to the work over the period

> * prepared to visit each English Region
> * can show evidence of the following skills, knowledge and experience
> - successful planning and organisation of projects
> - practical research skills including surveying, interviewing and
> desk research
> - understanding of electronic information resources
> - excellent communication skills
> - a strategic and problem-solving approach which perceives
> libraries in a broad context
> - excellent knowledge of current issues in the healthcare sector as
> they affect
> library and information services
> - knowledge of higher education library and information systems and
> structures highly desirable

> Secondments of suitable candidates are welcomed.

> Remuneration, based on a daily rate , can be negotiated up to £10,000 to
