Dear all,
the Ireland-United States Commission for Educational Exchange is currently
preparing proposals for educational exchanges between Ireland and USA for
2000-2001. A number of awards will be offered allowing US professors and
researchers to conduct research in Ireland for 3-12 months. The Department
of Geography, at National University of Ireland, Maynooth (15 miles west of
Dublin) is interested in hearing from any US researchers interested in this
exchange scheme. Priority areas, identified by the Commission, that we are
interested in are:
i) Science and Technology, particularly in areas relevant to national
needs. (our preference - cyberspace, climate change, atmospheric pollution)
ii) Social studies, with particular relevance to the study of problems
related to rapid urbanisation (our preference - regional/local development
- spatial planning).
For details on NUI Maynooth visit the web page at http://www.may.ie/
Please pass on to colleagues who you feel might be interested,
best wishes,
Rob
