Here in Salisbury, a single SHO has medical admission duties from
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. He also does an evening and night on
take on, I think, a 1 in 5 basis.
Admitting medical patients is chaotic when he is on leave.
I think he has occasional clinic duties and some ward rounds, but he
spends much of his time in A&E or on the medical admissions ward.
