PhD Research in Applied Artificial Intelligence,
University of Paisley
Applications are invited for two research studentships in Applied
Artificial Intelligence in the Department of Computing & Information
Systems. The appointments are available immediately.
Applications are welcome from nationals of any country of the
European Union.
One studentship is part of a collaborative project investigating the
integration of AI and image processing methods as an approach to
image registration.
The other project is in hybrid AI systems and will build on the
results of earlier research into the integration of case-based
reasoning and artificial neural networks as a problem solving
strategy. The application of the approach is likely to be in the area
of engineering design.
Applicants should have a good honours degree in a computing
discipline, or other related subject area (e.g. engineering or
mathematics) together with strong computing skills.
Whilst previous experience in AI is desirable, this is not essential
as appropriate studies in this area could be provided at the start of
the research.
The funding available includes a studentship at current U.K.
research councils' rates, plus payment of full-time fees. Some
part-time laboratory supervision will also be available.
