My deepest apologes to everyone who has received unwanted email as a
result of my questions (*that* newspaper survey).
I'm reluctant to send another email as I received some very negative
comments concerning my first one but if you'd like to learn from my
mistakes read on, otherwise delete this.
1) I didn't mean to annoy/offend/ upset people.
2) My reply option only sends to the sender - I honestly didn't
realise that other people's emails would go back to the group or I
would have warned people.
3) What is now *very* clear to me is that I should have set up a web
site form and just asked people to come visit, rather than sending
questions directly.
Once again, my apologies to everyone, I misunderstood what is and
isn't acceptable on email discussion groups. I've now looked at
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/docs/guidelines.html#reply
which has lots of advice about differences in email systems and about
generally how not to annoy people.
As you can no doubt guess, I learnt a lot.
Sorry once more,
Kev
