A quick look through my catalogue for the name Park in the Brampton area
has come up with the following references
Robert and William Park coal miners at Roachburn colliery at the time of
the disaster in 1908. Both survived the flooding of the mine.
Thomas Park he was hanged on the Capon Tree at Brampton for his part in
1745 jacobite uprising.
The plague on site has the following inscription
This stone, is palced to mark, the site of the, ancient Capon tree, under
whose shade, the judge of assize, rested and upon, whose branches were
executed, October XXI MDCCXLVI, for adherance, to the cause of, the Royal
line of Stuart, Colonel James Innes, Captain Patrick Lindesey, Ronald
MacDonald, Thomas Park, Peter Taylor, Michael Delord. erected by
subscription, 1904. Hugh Jackson Chairman Brampton parish council Henry
Pinfold Hon sec. and Treas.
