Dear all
Just a reminder that the closing date for nominations (to me) for the new
EGRG committee is the end of November. We can extend the deadline for
postgraduate members. If you are interested in standing (and it isn't
particularly onerous), let me know as soon as possible.
I will circulate info. on the nominees early in December.
The group's ever popular prize scheme will also close shortly - please let
any postgraduates (or recently enobled) you know about it. There are
prizes of £50 each for the best published paper (anyone who is currently a
postgrad or who received their PhD within the past two years can enter) and
for the best conference paper at Leicester (only open to postgraduates or
contract researchers without a PhD). Membership of the RGS-IBG or the EGRG
is NOT necessary, but the papers must be on a topic which encompasses
economic geography in its widest possible sense.
Postgraduate members of the EGRG can also apply for one of two £100 travel
awards to support attendance at an international conference in 1999.
Further details are available from the web site below or directly from me.
