Hi
Please could everyone remember to include only the most RELEVANT parts
of the text they are replying to in messages to the list - otherwise
the messages in a thread just get longer and longer.
It is helpful for busy readers if you can include a short piece of the
original message before you respond, so that we can see which
issue you are interested in. For the most part, you can just delete
everything else that remains below the end of your message.
Every message to the list is publically archived on the web. If someone
wants to read the full text of a previous message they can easily go to
the archive and look it up. At the moment the same message text is
being archived over and over again, which just uses up disk space and
download time.
If you felt so inclined, you could just look up the archive URL of the
message you are responding to and include that in your reply so that
interested readers could jump to the full text (and the threaded
replies).
PS. Why is it that questions about terminology always provoke more
list debates than anything else? ;-)
Best Wishes
