You are of course assuming that we all don't. I know for a fact that there
are plenty of activist-academics on this list. Maybe you might be weary of
the 'spirit of anarchism' (or other 'revolutionary' ethic), but for some it
actually means something in their everyday lives. Having this discussion
doesn't prevent you from doing things (I hope), and if it does then maybe
you should look at yourself not make assumptions about what everyone else
is doing :)
In repsonse to Pam, I think that academic work would be worth less if that
was all we did, however I hop that most people on this forum are 'more'
then academics (that is the point of it, isn't it?)... so, don't be
disheartened...
