Hi All
I have been having a quick root around some of the web sites that cover
craft and craft research and came across articles like this one* by
Kevin Murray.

This article suggest to me that craft designers are servely
underestimating the power and potential of technology. Its would appear
that technology, in the main, is only really being considered as an
information resource, why?
A few examples* hint at other ways of use but they are still only
relevant to and useable by designers who's desired form fits the
technology. In other words computer modelling tools are good at smooth
surfaces and not at hairy carpets etc.

Where the example above succeeds is in the way in which the tools is
used to allow the designer to explore the interplay of form in a way
that would not be possible in any other medium. This is the one of the
potential uses of technology to the craft designer.
