THE UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER 30th INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING SYMPOSIUM
CALL FOR PAPERS
Dates and venue: 24-25th March 1999 at the University of Manchester,
UK
Media professionals, academics and students of media are invited to
submit papers on appropriate themes (see below) for consideration by
the Symposium Committee. Further details can be obtained from the
Symposium Director.
Theme: Is regulation still an option in a digital universe?
Format:
Abstracts should be typed on ONE SIDE of A4 and should include the
following:
Title of paper
Author(s)
Name of presenter, affiliation and postal address
Abstract: 150 words
Audio-visual requirements
Final papers should be of not more than 3,000 words in length.
Presentation:
Individual papers will be allocated 30 minutes each (15 minutes, plus
15 minutes for questions). Presenters are asked NOT to read their
papers, but to present their main findings.
Acceptance/Rejection
You will be notified in writing whether or not your paper has been
accepted presentation.

Abstract:
1st January 1999
Papers:
1st February 1999
Selected papers will be published in the conference book, financed by
Channel 4 and published by John Libbey Media.
