About the Conference
Social, economic, political and technological changes have had a
considerable impact upon the lives of young people in the 1990s.
Significant numbers of young people across the world are socially excluded,
marginalised and disaffected. This Conference will offer the opportunity
to examine the nature of social exclusion and its effect upon young people.
It will all explore the philosophies and professional practices in
education, health, employment, politics and social policy which are
socially inclusive and which lead to positive outcomes for marginalised
young people.
Participants
The Conference aims to bring together
(a) those who study and research the world of young people and social
exclusion
(b) practitioners who work with young people in youth and community
work, schools, care establishments, health promotion, housing, employment
(c) policy makers, managers and trainers from a range of statutory and
voluntary organisations
