Human Factors Specialists - Glasgow
BAeSEMA is a leading international supplier and integrator of military
systems. Founded in 1991, the company is wholly owned by British
Aerospace, EuropeIs most successful and influential defence company.
Vacancies have arisen for two specialists to join our well-established Human
Factors team in Glasgow.

The more junior candidate will have a professional qualification in
Ergonomics, Psychology or similar and three to five years experience since
graduation in an industrial or commercial environment. Experience in the
defence industry would be an advantage.
Personal attributes should include excellent communication skills, written
and verbal, and an ability to work with little supervision in a
multi-disciplinary team.
The precise assignments will depend on the skills of the individual, but we
are seeking a good all-rounder who is able to apply a pragmatic approach to
a wide range of projects. Knowledge of a combination of human factors
techniques including task analysis, workplace and equipment design, physical
ergonomics, environmental design and HCI prototyping will be important.

The senior candidate will have a professional qualification in Ergonomics,
Psychology or similar and at least five years experience, preferably in the
defence industry, but possibly from other industrial settings where he/she
will have been involved in large complex projects. Additional experience
would be an advantage.
We would expect a successful senior candidate to make an immediate
contribution to our work and subsequently to play a role in sustaining and
developing our business. Personal attributes should include excellent
communication skills, written and verbal, strong project planning and
management capabilities and an ability to work unsupervised in a
multi-disciplinary team. A thorough knowledge in the application of
HFI/Manprint initiative within the UK defence business would be a distinct
advantage. Consideration will also be given to candidates with a strong
track record in the management of human factors and the practical
application of human factors approaches and techniques in systems
integration.
