Contributions from colleagues living outside Portugal and Spain are also wellcome, as long as they approach interesting subjects for Iberian archaeology, including methodology, theory, or Iberia seen in a Mediterranean, Atlantic or world setting. \par \tab The journal will be published in English once a year.\par \tab Individual subscription is included in the annual membership fee of ADECAP. If you wish to join the association, please apply to ADECAP, R. An\'92bal Cunha, 39, 3\'bc , s. 7, 4050 Porto, Portugal. Fax: 351.2.2026903 or 351.2.2087149. E-mail: [log in to unmask]\par \tab Articles submited for publication will be of 10-15 pages length with 2-3 il lustrations (preferently drawings), and written in English. Please send the text in a disc and in print. The JIA will also include sections on reports (excavations, survey programmes, etc.), review articles and short news items (meetings, congresses, etc).  Intending contributors should send texts to the JIA General Editor, V\'92tor O. Jorge, ADECAP, R. An\'92bal Cunha, 39, 3\'bc, s.7, 4050 Porto, Portugal. \par \tab The deadline for submission will be on 31 May for publication in the same year. The first volume (vol. 0) of JIA was published August 1998 and it is being distributed worldwide by Portico Librerias, Zaragoza, Spain (e-mail: [log in to unmask]). We are now preparing the second (vol. 1), to be presented in September 1999 to the 3rd Congress on Iberian Archaeology  (UTAD, Vila Real, Portugal). {\ul Your contribution is wellcome}.\par \pard \par }

This event aims to approach the main issues of the current archaeological research in the whole of Iberia, puting together colleagues that work on themes which are interesting for the archaeology of the Peninsula, whatever the place where they live (Spain, Portugal, or abroad). It will be divided in several sessions, each one focusing on a specific subject. A part from those listed below, we would appreciate the suggestion of other themes. Each session will function as an autonomous meeting, with its coordinators. The success of this congress will depend on the capacity of the coordinators to mobilize people an d ideas to present and discuss in Vila Real the subjects that are actually in the front of the research, from the Palaeolithic to the Contemporary Epoch.\par \pard \qj \tab The organizing structure of the Congress is the new-born ADECAP (Association for the Improvement of the Cooperation in Iberian Archaeology). You may become a member of ADECAP, receiving regularly the {\i JIA} at home - just write to us and ask for an application form. Adress: R.
