TOWARDS AN EVOLUTIONARY THEORY OF ARCHITECTURE
______________________________________________
There is a new paper in our website which may be of interest to those
involved in architectural research.
In the framework of conventional anthropology (Ember/Ember 1993) the report
deals with the systematically reconstructed evolution of architecture and
its impacts on three human/cultural characteristics:
* Bipedic locomotion and upright body
* Increase of brain size
* Territorial control and sedentarisation
The approach also indicates a new hypothesis regarding the temporal depths
involved:

ARCHITECTURE MIGHT BE 22 MILLION YEARS OLD!

*Nota bene*:
In this wider anthropological view it might become plausible that
architecture contributed essentially to the creation of man and
culture. This implies strong arguments in favour of
intensified research:

DOES THE ARCHITECT 'CREATE' MAN?

A positive answer would provide strong arguments to check his present
instruments!
