I've forwarded this from sports-med to sports-engineering (perhaps we
should consider a 'sports-all' superlist). Someone might have an
equipment-related anecdote, eg snooker players always using the same cue,
lucky charms carried in cars, etc. And there must be many people, such as
Eric Liddell (Chariots of Fire) who wouldn't run on Sundays, who have
religious observations.
