FACULTY VACANCIES
FALL 1999
California State University, Sacramento, celebrated its 50th
anniversary last year as the Capital University of the 23-campus
California State University. As we continue to celebrate past
achievements, we also invite applications from individuals
interested in joining our dynamic and growing faculty to meet
the challenges that will take us into the 21st century. With a
current student population in excess of 23,000, CSUS is the
seventh largest and seventh oldest campus in the California
State University system, the largest system of higher education
in the nation. The University is organized around seven
colleges. There are approximately 1,200 faculty providing
programs of instruction leading towards bachelor's degrees in 60
disciplines and master's degrees in 40 disciplines.
Sacramento is California's capital city and is a high growth
metropolitan area with a population of approximately 1.7
million. Outstanding cultural, recreational and entertainment
opportunities are available both on campus and in the northern
California region.
The departments listed below are recruiting for full-time,
tenure-track positions (unless otherwise noted), most at the
rank of Assistant Professor, to begin Fall 1999. As departments
make the information available, detailed announcements including
the position description, qualifications, and application
procedures will be posted on the California State University
