Lectureship in Ergonomics
Department of Human Sciences
Loughborough University
UK
The Department of Human Sciences (originally the Department of
Ergonomics
and Cybernetics) has long been internationally recognised for its
research
and teaching in Ergonomics. The Department is multidisciplinary
encompassing Ergonomics, Human Biology and Psychology. Applications are
invited from individuals with an established research record and
evidence
of teaching ability for a Lectureship in Ergonomics within the
Department
of Human Sciences. Candidates in any relevant area will be welcome, but
particularly those able to complement the department's expertise in
anthropometry and biomechanics and their application to the design of
products, systems and environments. Others should not be discouraged
from
applying, however, as the selection will be based mainly on the
candidate's
research record and their potential to contribute to the continued
development of Ergonomics within the Department. It is intended that
the
appointee will have post-doctoral research experience, an excellent
publication record and demonstrate the ability to obtain external
funding
for research.
Salary will be within the Lecturer scales A (£16,655 - £21,815) or B
(£22,726 - £29,048). The appointment is permanent and available from
the
earliest convenient date. The Department wishes to have someone in
post
by January 1st 1999.
Application forms are available from the Personnel Office, Loughborough
