technologies from Europe's leading players, in upgrading broadcast and
cable networks to carry fully interactive services to television sets and
PCs.
Results from the ACTS Programme of collaborative trials in terrestrial
broadcast, satellite, satellite master antenna television, cable and
microwave distribution networks.
It is designed for professionals who are NOT directly participating in
ACTS.

The viability of the new technologies to deliver fully interactive services
has been tested in extensive trials.
Europe's leading companies and research establishments are collaborating in
ACTS (Advanced Communications Technologies and Services), a large-scale
programme of some 200 projects in telecom and broadcast research and
trials, the successor of RACE. The partners in ACTS co-operate closely to
develop strategies and new open standards. ACTS is funded jointly by
industry and the European Commission DG XIII.
