JOB VACANCY - POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER
We need a postdoctoral-level researcher to help us investigate the psychological
and economic factors that affect how Scottish farmers look after their animals.
As a part of our successful multidisciplinary group of psychologists,
animal welfare specialists and socio-economists you will design and
implement a survey of farmers to assess these relationships and play a major
role in the analysis and publication of the results.
The post will be based in the Department of Psychology at Edinburgh
University, and will involve collaboration with researchers located in the
universities of Edinburgh and Bangor and at the Scottish Agricultural
College. You should have a PhD in a relevant social or animal science and,
ideally, have some experience of the analysis of survey data. A knowledge
of issues relating to farm animal welfare would be an advantage but is not
essential. A full driving licence is essential.
The post is available for three years from 1/10/98. Salary in the range
