Louise, greetings.
I guess one question I might have is tell me a little bit about yourself,
your setting and your experience. I might be able to better [and more
respectfully!] help from there.
My name is Marcia Hall. I am director of PT at a small community
hospital with a pretty large dizziness/imbalance population and specialty
program. I am one of many clinicians in the country who have been
treating this population for many years. [there are lots of really really
excellent resources out there I can connect you with]
The exercises you speak of are a bit cook-book mixture of VSR and VOR
exercises designed years ago. My physician gives them out in the office
to get his vestibulopathy patients started before they get to me. He
then expects me to evaluate the dysfunction and prescribe a customized
vestibular rehabilitation program based on the findings.
They are a good start for unilateral vestibular loss patients, but most
certainly can not be utilized or looked at for all dizziness patients.
Do you have other resources?
