I'm sure you can easily get the details of the condition from medical
textbooks or dictionaries, and I'm sorry my reply is so unscientific.
Yes, I have come across people with the condition several times.
Usually it has nothing to do with the reason I was seeing then. As I
understand the actual nodules are normally benign and harmless except
for their appearance. I did however meet a lovely woman some years ago
who a had nodule on her spinal cord that became malignant. If I remeber
rightly this can happen but happens rarely. I helped her to get up in a
wheelchair so she could be taken outside and thereby hopefully improved
the quality of her last few weeks before she died.
My memories of neurofibromatosis are therefore quite sad.
