Hello italianisti
I'm after a little bit of translation help again, I'm afraid. I'm giving
the whole of the following passage, hoping that it will give some context
for my two queries, 'pagarsi la vetrina' and 'perchinghello'. The passage
comes from a letter dated 6 Aug 1574, again from the Parma archives, and
again dealing with Henri III's progress up the river Po.
I'm assuming that the phrase 'pagarsi la vetrina' has something to do with
buying from pedlars, as the Duke of Parma had recently issued orders
outlawing the sale of goods and food to the King's entourage (the Duke of
Ferrara was subsidising the journey). 'Perchingello' is clearly some kind
of food.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
